Not every desert tour suits younger kids. This page lists the family-friendly options, the minimum ages we apply and the routes we actually recommend with children.

Jeep and stargazing tours for all ages
The Hurghada jeep and stargazing safari with dinner, the private jeep safari, the Sinai jeep safari in Sharm and the Marsa Alam jeep safari have no minimum age. Kids ride inside the 4x4 with you the whole time, with no quad involved. This is the easiest family option in our catalogue.
Quad tours and Super Safari: 16+ only
Every tour with a quad ride, including the Super Safari in Hurghada, Sharm and Marsa Alam, has a minimum age of 16. Under-16s cannot join, not even as a passenger on a parent's quad. Teens aged 16 and over each drive their own quad.
Camel, horse and buggy options
In Hurghada, the sunset camel ride takes kids from 4 and horse riding starts at 8. In Sharm, horse riding starts at 7. The Hurghada buggy ride is 16+ like the quads, with no passengers under 16. Teens who want some speed can drive a buggy or their own quad from 16; younger kids are better off on the jeep and stargazing safari, the camel ride or horse riding.
What to bring with kids
Closed shoes, sun hats, sun cream, a small water bottle each, and a light jacket for evening returns. Many guests bring wet wipes for after-dinner.

Can a 5-year-old come on a desert tour?+
Yes on jeep and stargazing safaris or the sunset camel ride (from 4). Not on quad tours or the Super Safari, which are 16+ only.
Is there a child seat in the pickup van?+
Standard hotel transfer is a minivan with seatbelts. We do not provide infant car seats. If you need one, please tell us in advance.
Will kids see live animals?+
Camels for sure. Bedouin villages sometimes have goats. We do not run any wild-animal interaction tours.
