Why Hurghada is best for first-time safari

Big tour fleets mean fixed daily departures, short transfer times from El Gouna to Soma Bay, and easy combinations with snorkelling, dolphin and dive days. Most hotels are 15–30 minutes from the dune zone.

Pickup zones included

Hurghada town, El Gouna, Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh, Safaga and Soma Bay. Pickup is part of the listed price; the team confirms the exact pickup window the evening before.

Best months

Year-round. October to April has the most comfortable desert temperatures. July and August stay hot until late afternoon, so morning or sunset departures work better.

What to bring

Closed shoes, sunglasses, a light scarf for dust on quad routes, sunscreen, light jacket for evening tours. Cameras are fine on jeep and camel, but keep them sealed during quad.

Common questions

  • How long is a Hurghada desert safari?+

Short tours are about three hours including pickup. Combined tours run five to seven hours. Overnight Bedouin camps return next morning.

  • Is pickup from El Gouna included?+

Yes. El Gouna, Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh, Safaga and Soma Bay are all included.

  • What if I have never ridden a quad?+

Most guests have not. There is a short briefing and the first 5 minutes are slow so the guide can check you can steer and brake.
